Bee County veterans, their wives and widows will want to take advantage of a special veterans workshop scheduled for Thursday, June 23.

Veterans Service Officer Al Puga said this week that the workshop will last all day, from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m., and will be held at the main building at the Bee County Exposition Center.

There is no charge for this workshop, but the information that can be obtained there will be invaluable.

Puga said those who attend will have a chance to talk one-on-one with counselors from a number of government agencies and veterans organizations.

More than a dozen counselors will be there from the organizations like the Texas Workforce, the Texas Veterans Commission, the Texas Educational Specialists, the Texas Vocational and Rehabilitation Council, the Texas Veterans Advocates, the South Texas Veterans Health Care System, along with representatives from U.S. Congressman Rubén Hinojosa’s office.

Puga said writing material, pads and pens, will be available for those who attend and food and drinks will be provided at no charge.
