The 4H County Council Officer team consists of: Lacie Beall-president, Dalton Klare-vice-president, Cecilia Bauer-secretary, H.C. Neel-treasurer, Reagan Ruddock-district delegate, Kodye Neel-reporter, and Morgan Klaevemann-parliamentarian.
“Preparing today’s youth for their roles as tomorrow’s leaders is one of Refugio County 4H’s most important goals,” said Tina McGuill, 4H coordinator. “Leadership is the ability to influence and support others in a positive manner for a common goal.”
McGuill explained the goal and roll of the officer training.
Good leaders are able to think for themselves, communicate their thoughts and feelings to others, help others understand and act on their own beliefs, and influences others in an ethical and socially responsible way.
Club officers will gain valuable skills, such as: identifying and understanding roles, attitudes, tasks and functions necessary for effective leadership, and encouragement for them to participate in program planning and recruiting new members.
These skills will enable each of them to be effective leaders as they fulfill their responsibilities as club officers. At the conclusion of the training, 4H members can participate in team building activities, which will teach them the importance of cooperation, communication and group planning.
