Thomas Michael “Mike” Galloway, 62, of Marquez, died Friday, Aug. 19. He was a draftsman for Houston Offshore Engineering.

Mike graduated from Refugio High School in 1966 and served in the U.S. Army.

He was born on Aug. 25, 1948, in Refugio to Joseph Lee and Marion Dewvall Galloway.

He is preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include his wife of 17 years, Lilly Winstead Galloway of Marquez; three daughters, Allison Mayer of Caldwell, Tammy Watson and husband Larry of Marquez, Julie Salley and husband Jim of Marquez; one son, Marvin D. Griffin and Samantha Elom of Marquez; a brother Joseph L. Galloway Jr. of Bayside; 10 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Funeral services were conducted at 11 a.m., Monday, Aug. 22, at the Marquez Baptist Church. Burial was in Winn Cemetery in Leon County.
