The Refugio County Community Center was transformed into a Las Vegas atmosphere Saturday night for the ninth annual Boys and Girls Club Gala.

About 150 guests attended “Night at the Casino,” where play money flowed at the game tables.

Prizes were drawn at the end of the evening.

“Great food was served at stations throughout the evening,” said Nan Linney, organizer.

Ric Tinney of Goliad, “Catering with Panache” provided the food.

A silent and live auction raised funds for the local club.

DJ John Garcia provided music through the evening.

“This is the club’s major fundraiser and could not be successful without a great deal of help,” Linney said.

The board of directors including Frank Hosey, Wanda Dukes, Phyllis Hayes, Prudey Piwetz and Linney said the event’s success is attributed to its sponsors, contributors and generous members of the community.
