BEEVILLE – Richmond Edward Carpenter II, 64, of Beeville and formerly of Refugio, died Friday, Sept. 2, 2011.
He married Linda Parks in Pettus on Sept. 8, 1975, and served in the U.S. Air Force. He was a retired captain for the Refugio Police Department and a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.
Carpenter was born Dec. 23, 1946, in Beeville, to Dorothy Mae (Dorsey) and Richmond Edward Carpenter Sr.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Richmond Sr. and Dorothy Carpenter.
Survivors include his wife, Linda Carpenter of Beeville; a son, Richmond “Trey” Edward (Jennifer) Carpenter III of Refugio; a daughter, Corinne Carpenter of Beeville; and two grandchildren, Shyanne Kathryn Bailey and Justice Darrell Carpenter.
Visitation was held from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at Galloway & Sons Funeral Home. A rosary was recited there that evening at 7 o’clock.
The funeral Mass was celebrated Tuesday at 2 p.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church with the Rev. Richard Gonzales officiating. Musical selections included “Amazing Grace.” Burial was in St. Joseph Cemetery.
Pallbearers were the St. Joseph Parish Knights of Columbus.
