Lara, Kelley united in marriage

Liz Lara and John Kelley of Refugio were united in marriage at 2 p.m. aboard Carnival Ecstasy on Aug. 11, 2011.

The bride is the daughter of Mary Helen Fricks of Refugio and Rudy Lara of Rosenberg. The groom is the son of John and Christi Kelley of Refugio; and Brenda Mabry of Highlands.

Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore an ivory, silk-organza one-shoulder Galina gown. She carried a custom silk rose bouquet adorned with pearl and crystal accents.

Serving as maid of honor was Missy Sanchez, sister of the bride. Bridesmaids were Megan Haynes of Refugio, Toni Rodriguez and Melissa Autry, both of Woodsboro, and Mandy Kelley of Orange Grove. The bridesmaids wore a one-shoulder, floor-length, Jade-colored gown.

The best man was James Kelley of Orange Grove, brother of the groom. The groomsmen were Matt Garza of Refugio, Richard Rodriguez and Justin Cisneros, both of Woodsboro, and Mark Sanchez of Refugio.

A reception was held on board the cruise ship.

The groom is employed at Hilcorp Energy. The bride is employed at the Refugio County Tax Office.

Following a four-day cruise to Cozumel, Mexico the couple will reside in Refugio.
