Lady Eagles 2-0 in district play

Last Friday, the Lady Eagles started off district with a bang by defeating the Nordheim Lady Pirates in 3 games.

Tuesday, Sept.13, the Woodsboro Lady Eagles took down district rival Pettus in 4 games with scores of 25-15,25-14, 9-25,25-11.

Bria Brown led the team with kills, and Toni Martinez with assists. Bria and Toni, along with Jamie Wilson and Kat Ingram led the team with service points. Kasye McCool, Taylor Perez, Hannah Niemann, Alicen Grimes, Kati Perez, Pauline Irving, and Lauren Cramer contributed to the victory as well.

“We finally have come together and are playing as a team,” said coach Amy Waer. “ I am so proud of them and their dedication. The season started off a little rocky, so it’s amazing to see everything coming together. Thank you so much to all of our parents, fans, and supporters. It means so much to have you behind us!”

The Lady Eagles continue district play this Friday against Austwell-Tivoli at home at 5.

On Tuesday, Sept 20, the Lady Eagles host the Yorktown Kitty Kats. Three games will be played including freshmen, junior varsity and varsity matches beginning at 5 p.m.
