The Cats came out fighting but dropped game one in a close 25-21 match.
The Lady Cats would not be deterred, and came back in game two to win 25-17.
But the Lady Badgers did not give up as well and came back for a 25-15 win in game three.
“Knowing game four was a must win, the Lady Cats continued fighting point-for-point,” said Coach Selina Hemphill.
The Lady Cats took a 25-21 win and the battle continued.
“A stunned Badger team couldn’t seem to regroup,” Hemphill said.
Faced with the Lady Cats’ relentless determination. the Lady Cats took the final match 15-7.
The Junior Varsity 2 team defeated Bishop 25-12, 25-19 as did the JV 1 team 20-25, 25-13, 25-23.
Lexy Hawthorne tallied 15 assists for the night; Jackie Gonzalez, 10; and Megan Shaw, 1.
Michelle Rosas recorded 6 aces; Alicia Canchola, 5; Lacey Sanders, 2; Marcela Leal, 1; Irene Gallegos, 1; and Gonzalez, 1.
Shaw and Gonzalez put up 9 kills, Hawthorne, 6; Rosas, 6; Laterrian Perkins, 2; and Kierstan Camacho, 1.
