The run started at 10 a.m. with a blessing. George West Police held traffic on S. Hwy. 281. The run took the riders to Orange Grove for a stop at Stripes and two stops located on Hwy. 666. The stops required signatures in order to qualify for the card drawing. The round robin took the bikes through Three Rivers where the city police gave them clearance through the lights at Hwy. 281 and 72. They then returned to Cactus Park.
Gary Jones awarded trophies to the winners of the field events. The fun run winners were Don Hollman, from Orange Grove; first place, second place winner Yvonne Hollman from Orange Grove and third place Larry Smith, Three Rivers.
The fund raisers ensured a fun day with lots of food, neat clothes, jewelry and a silent auction which were enjoyed by all the visitors. The gifts received from the donors were truly super.
The barbecue prepared by Big Lou’s Cooking Crew was a big success. All in all the support from Live Oak County was what made the whole day a big winner. In closing, Ralph Lopez kept the music going all day getting everyone in a happy mood.
