The Refugio County Jamboree will feature five entertainers and the Jamboree Band at the community center on Thursday, Jan. 22.

L.A. Zdansky is a well-known drummer and singer from Corpus Christi.

“L.A. is not playing regularly anymore, but still stays close to his love of music by doing the area shows from time to time,” said Rick Faircloth, show organizer. “He’s a friend to everyone and we’re happy to have him on our show.”

Al Nelson, also of Corpus Christi, is a very good drummer and singer who can sing the Ray Price style as well play the Big Band style.

Bud Whittington of Sinton is a regular to the country music scene. He is a member of the award-winning Opry Band.

Robin Pollock and her 13-year-old daughter Samantha are relatively new to the Opry show business.

“Their newness in no way reflects their talent,” Faircloth said. “They both perform like professionals, individually, as well as in duets. We’re very delighted to have them at the Jamboree for the first time.”

Admission is $4 per person for a full evening of live musical entertainment.
