REFUGIO — The annual Fall Festival at Our Lady of Refuge Catholic Church is set for Sunday, Oct. 30, and will feature entertainment for people of all ages.

The Country Store will feature crafts, needle work, fans, jellies, pickles, cakes, pies, candy, desserts and Thanksgiving and Christmas items.

The carnival provides lots of games, face painting and fun for the children.

The costume contest brings in a crowd of all ages who enjoy the parade of amazing costumes. Prizes are given to the best costumes in each age category.

Tom White and his crew will provide a delicious meal of roasted pork, mashed potatoes, green beans, gravy, salad, rolls and cranberry sauce. The ladies of the parish will provide the desserts.

“The parishioners always come through with great items for the silent and live auctions,” said Kate Campbell, coordinator.

Barry Beuershausen will serve as auctioneer again this year. The drawing for the many great raffle prizes will be held at the close of the auction. There are 34 prizes in the raffle this year with the big prize being $1,000 in Visa gift cards. Tickets are $1 and will be sold by the CCD students. Tickets will also be available for sale the day of the festival.

“This traditional event is always lots of fun and is the only fundraiser held by the church,” said Betty Bauer, festival coordinator.
