The No. 1 ranked Refugio Bobcats remain undefeated after a 55-14 thrashing of the Banquete Bulldogs in Jack Sportsman Bobcat Stadium in Refugio Friday night.

In the first play of the game, Refugio set the pace by running the ball deep into Bulldog territory. One play later, and seconds into the game, the Cats put the first points on the board. The Cats scored almost at will though the Bulldogs were able to put 14 points on the scoreboard in the first half of play.

In the second half, the Bobcats held the Bulldogs scoreless by pummeling the Banquete defense.

The Bobcats have a bye next Friday before making its 43rd trip to the state playoffs.

The Bobcats earned the national scoring record and the state 2A record for the most trips to the playoffs.
