But the former Bobcats will be on the opposite sides of the field – even across the line from one another.
“I’m so proud of them,” said Bobcat head coach Jason Herring. “These boys are living their dream.”
Klare is a defensive end on the Rice University Owls team and Frazier is on the offensive line for the University of Texas at El Paso Miners.
The game will be televised on Fox Sports Network at 1 p.m.
Frazier, No. 66, is listed on the Miner roster as a 6-4, 305-pound sophomore. Prior to entering college to study criminal justice, Frazier was charted as the No. 158 tackle in the nation by Scout.com.
As a senior at Refugio High School, he earned all-district and all-area player.
Klare, also a sophomore, is 6-2 and weighs in at 270. Klare was ranked as one of the top 20 defensive linemen in Texas.
Klare, who has been pitted against his former teammate before, says “it’s always weird to see Kupa on the other side of the ball.”
Even with successful football careers in full swing, Dylan says he has his eye on the Bobcats.
“I hope the Bobcats go all the way,” Klare said. “I wish I could watch them play.”
