REFUGIO – Horace Butler, 80, died Thursday, Nov. 10, 2011. He served in the U.S. Army; graduated from Prairie View A&M; owned and operated Butler Plumbing for 46 years. He was a member of the Church of Christ.

He was born Jan. 14, 1931, to Alex and Pattie Mae Ingraham Butler in Jackson County.

He is preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Hiljie Butler.

Survivors include his wife, Margueritte Butler of Refugio; son, Russell Butler of San Antonio; and sister, Marcella Brooks of Edna.

Visitation was held Sunday, Nov. 13, from 6-8 p.m. at Moore Funeral Home.

Funeral services were conducted Monday, Nov. 14, at 11 a.m. with Dr. Victor Frazier, officiating. Burial was in Community Cemetery in Refugio.

Pallbearers were Craig Brown, Jeff Williams, Keith Williams, Roderick Green and Dale Tucker.
