The Gospel lesson for the Third Sunday of Advent was from John 1:6-8, 19-28. John’s gospel describes Jesus as the “light of the world”. John the Baptist is presented as a witness to Jesus, one who directs attention away from himself to Christ, the true light. “I am the voice of one crying out in the wilderness, “Make straight the way of the Lord”’, said John the Baptist. Prepare your heart to receive the Savior this Christmas season. Sunday worship through December is at 10 a.m. Advent services Dec.14 and 21 at 7 p.m. with soup and sandwiches at 6 p.m. Everyone is welcome to join us at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Runge at 409 Wilbern.
