The town of Refugio will host a Bobcat Championship Extravaganza tonight (Thursday, Jan. 5) at the gazebo in King’s Park beginning at 7 p.m.

Mayor Ray Jaso is expected to issue proclamations regarding the Bobcats’ 2A, Div. II State Championship.

“Television stations have been invited so we hope to see them there,” Jaso said.

Jaso called Dale Nelson Tuesday to get a weather report for the event.

“Dale Nelson said the weather will be 50 degrees after the sun goes down with light to no wind blowing, so we expect the weather conditions to be great,” Jaso said.

The mayor said the Bobcats will be in their numbered jerseys so everyone will have the opportunity to meet, greet and congratulate each player and the coaches as well.
