REFUGIO – The Taft Greyhounds came to Refugio Tuesday night with an undefeated 5-0 district record and added one more win over the Bobcats, 63-51.

The Bobcats, who are 2-3 looked to make a run and started the night off fast, leading the game early in the first quarter.

Down by three points going into the second quarter, the Greyhounds came out on fire and scored 21 points in the second quarter.

The deficit would turn out to be too much for the Bobcats.

“The Cats out-scored Taft in the fourth quarter but the damage had already been done,” said Coach Eli Boxell. “The Greyhounds exceptional outside shooting made the difference.”

The Greyhounds dunked 8 three-pointers to out-score the Cats..

Leading the scoring for Refugio was Brett Davis with 15; Tevin Nash, 14; Logan Myers, 12; Anfernee Friar, 6; and JB Brown, 4.

The Cats fell to 2-4 for the season.
