4-H Livestock Judging Team win awards

The county 4-H livestock judging team earned awards at the Nueces and San Patricio county contests. The team members are (first row)  K’Cee Ponce, Ryan Speis, Holley Nelson, Kasandra Nunez, (second row) Derek Ressman, Marcus Salinas, Dalton Klare, HC Neel, Kodye Neel and Reagan Ruddock.

REFUGIO ­ — The Refugio County 4-H Livestock Judging Team recently competed at the Nueces County and San Patricio County contests.

Team members did well by winning awards at both contests.

At the Nueces County contest, in the junior team divison, Holley Nelson placed 5th. In the intermediate division, Reagan Ruddock won 1st; Kodye Neel, 7th; and Kasandra Nunez, 14th.

The intermediate team of Ruddock, Neel, Nunez and K’Cee Ponce placed 3rd Overall.

Senior team member Dalton Klare placed 14th and the senior team of Klare, HC Neel, Derek Ressmann and Marcus Salinas placed 11th.

At the San Patricio contest junior member Holley Nelson placed 9th and Ryan Speis placed 5th. Kodye Neel placed 2nd in the intermediate division while the team of Neel, K’Cee Ponce and Kasadra Nunez placed 4th.

Senior Dalton Klare placed 12th and HC Neel 15th. The senior team of Klare, Neel, Ressmann and Salinas placed 5th.

The team will compete at the end of February at the San Antonio Livestock Show.
