Duenez was selected from hundreds of nominations statewide. College recruiters across the state participate in the selection process.
As a freshman, Duenez was selected as Newcomer of the Year. As a sophomore he earned a district first team slot, and as a junior he was selected as District Offensive Most Valuable Player.
“Garek has worked hard for years to become one of the most recognized 1A basketball players in the state,” said Stephen Maldonado, school principal. “I hope his talent on the court wins the approval of the college scouts who will be in attendance.”
The boys game is scheduled for 5 p.m.
