The Lady Eagles went undefeated this season. The Lady Eagles also combined with varsity players early, while the basketball team was still in the playoffs, and throughout the season. Coach Jaime Cano said the girls gained valuable playing experience.
“I am real happy and pleased with our J.V., they practice hard every day and did everything we asked of them,” Cano said. “Some of these girls came out this season without any experience but were determined to learn and get better every practice.” s
Having a Junior Varsity team at a 1A program is an added advantage for our overall softball program, Cano added.
The Lady Eagles are coached by assistant coach Julie Carmichael and head coach Jaime Cano.
The Lady Eagles defeated Port Aransas JV 7-0, Incarnate Word Academy 5-0, Mathis JV 9-2, Falls City JV10-9, Yorktown JV 10-4, and Pettus JV 12-10.
Playing on the Junior Varsity this season were Caitlyn LePore, Kendall Wendland, Brittany Lopez, Anna Vega, Hannah Niemann, Danielle Perez, Amber Gray, Azalea Garcia, Vanessa Vasquez, Michelle Martinez, Tana Salyers, Madalynn Nixon and Brittany Stewart.
“Congratulations to the Junior Varsity Lady Eagle softball team,” Cano said.
