Lady Eaglets take first loss of season

The Lady Eaglets took their first loss of the season to a very tough Pettus team 38-28, Monday, Jan. 26.

“The ladies fought hard but were unable to break a tough Pettus defense,” said Coach Rhonda Perez. “The entire team played with a lot of heart and showed great sportsmanship at the end of the game.”

Leading scorers for this game were Taylor Perez with 8 points; Kasye McCool, 7; Toni Martinez, 6; Jamie Wilson, 5 and Desirae Perez, 2.

The next game is the Port Aransas Tournament on Saturday, Jan. 31.

“Please come out and support the 7th and 8th grade teams,” Perez said.

The Lady Eaglets defeated the Port Aransas Marlins 25-22 on Thursday, Jan. 22.

“The girls played tough and worked together as a team to pull a great win,” Perez said.

Leading scorers for the game were Kasye McCool with 10 points; Taylor Perez, 6; Jamie Wilson, 5 and Toni Martinez, 4.
