Sponsored by the Texas State Library and Archives Commission, this year's theme is Get a Clue...At the Library! It's open to all kids from 4 years old to 6th grade, and every child who completes the program will receive a certificate created by children's book illustrator Bruce Hale and signed by the governor of Texas.
Our summer reading program will run from June 4 to June 29, and every Wednesday at 3 we will be presenting programs to help you “Get a Clue” about a whole lot of different things. Our programming partners include the Texas Zoo, the Children's Discovery Museum, and the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department, and our programs are open to everyone, not just our Reading Club participants.
The Texas Zoo will be visiting the Runge Public Library on June 6 at 3 p.m. and bringing along some animal friends for you to meet. Join us and learn about how animals camouflage themselves, where they come from, and what they eat.
On Friday, June 29 we will have a special closing event sponsored by the Texas Commission on the Arts with storyteller Bernadette Nason and certificates will be awarded to all who have completed the program. We hope to see you there!
For more information please contact the Runge Public Library at (830)239-4192. We're open Monday, Wednesday, Friday: 9:30–5:30 and Tuesday and Thursday: 1–5.
