It is a long standing Woodsboro High School graduation ceremony tradition for the junior class to make a flower chain for former Woodsboro graduates to hand down to the graduating seniors and then for the graduating seniors to pass down to the incoming seniors.
This tradition is a rite of passage for graduating seniors into the real world and a challenge to the incoming seniors to strive for their best in all of their endeavors. The graduating seniors take pride in asking a graduate, who accepts passing the flower chain as an honor, and in choosing an incoming senior to mentor by passing the flower chain on. The tradition is not only meaningful and memorable but a beautiful sight to see.
The junior class takes great pride in making the flower chain by collecting the best indigenous flowers from our area along with the many donations received and appreciated from individuals and florist shops in the area to adorn two 20-foot long ropes used in the ceremony.
The junior class and class sponsors would like to take this opportunity to give a special thank you to Nona Florist of Refugio, The Blossom Shop in Corpus Christi, Creations by Hope in Aranasas Pass, Artistic Flowers in Portland, Anderson Ag Supply, Glen Gresham, Carrie Albert, Toni Tonngate and Nan Borden for their help in making this years flower chain spectacular.
