Union Baptist Church will sponsor a special program to recognize Black History Month in February. The theme is the Heritage of Our People and the program is set for Sunday, Feb. 8 at 3 p.m.

The theme for the program is taken from II Chronicles 7:14 entitled “In My People.” The special emphasis on black history will be presented by members of the church. Deacon Eddie Edwards will further explore the theme.

Special musical guests will be the Mt. Nebo Baptist Church Drill and Praise Teams of Victoria. The Rev. Claude Axel and the Mt. Pilgrim Baptist Church of Corpus Christi will present the second half of the program.

“We invite the public to come and be a part of our program as we come together to reflect on the past, share the present and look forward to the future,” said The Rev. Eugene Lewis, pastor.

Sister Patty Lewis serves as chairperson of the program.
