Refugio started slow but finished strong to defeat Taft for the third time this season, raising their district record to a perfect 8-0. They won the game by a score of 45-19.

Half-way through the first quarter, Refugio trailed 6-4. Coach Jacob Ray said great defense by Daniel Ochoa and Jonathan Brown, sparked a flurry of easy baskets, which ended up with the Bobcats leading 17-8 at the end of the first quarter.

Refugio played consistently from that point forward.

Refugio’s scoring leader was Anthony Villarreal with 11. Travis Quintanilla and Daniel Ochoa each added a point each. Alex Coronado and Devon LaFrance scored 4, with Andrew Williams adding 3.

Travis led the team in assists with eight, followed by Jonathan who had six.
