7th grade Cats crush S-T in one-sided victory

Refugio started off with a hot hand and jumped out to a 26-1 lead. The 7th grade Cats never let up and walked away with a handy 50-15 win over Skidmore-Tynan.

Led by the outstanding defensive play of Anthony Villarreal, Dalton Klare and Marquis Brown, the Bobcat defense allowed just three first-half points.

Refugio continued to play hard for the entire evening for a strong Orange and Black win.

Jonathan Brown and Anthony Villarreal both scored 15 points and had five assists to lead the team in scoring. Travis Quintanilla scored seven points and also led the team with 8 assists.

Devon LaFrance contributed 6 points and 2 assists. Dalton Klare, Shane Jochetz, Darrin DeLeon and Marquis Brown each added two points.

The seventh graders will play their final game on Monday, Feb. 9, in Bloomington starting at 5 p.m.
