Dollie Dica Bryne Blain, 92, of Woodsboro, died Thursday, Jan. 29, 2009. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Premont. An active member in her children’s school functions, Blain’s interests included music, carpentry, sewing, gardening, fishing, camping and travel.

She was born Sept. 8, 1916, in the Bompas Township, Richland County, Ill., to Royal Evert Byrne and Maude Leona Preston.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Darlene Davis; her husband, William Alvin; one daughter, Rosetta Swartz; her son-in-law, Bobbie Dean Swartz; and her granddaughter, Valerie Mayhall.

Survivors include one daughter, Carol Mayhall and husband Charles of Alice; two sons, Larry Blain and wife Sylvia of Lompoc, Calif.; Danny Blain of Woodsboro; six grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation was held from 6-8 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 3, at Moore Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral services were conducted at 10 a.m., Wednesday, Feb. 4, at Moore Funeral Home Chapel. Burial was in Oakwood Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Larry Blain, Danny Blain, Charles Mayhall, Trey Mayhall, Randy Blain and George Balderas.

Honorary pallbearers were David Burris, Mike Gandy, Timothy Gibbs, Brian Nelson and Latheril Credit.
