“I’m Rocky the Bobcat, not Drema Henning,” she says. “I can let loose and have fun with everybody. My favorite thing is dancing.”
Her exuberance landed Drema a third All-American Mascot title at the South Padre Island Resort Cheer Camp last week. She also won the Camp Champ for the second year in a row and the Leadership Award.
Cheerleaders Paige Shay, Marcela Leal and Sarah Rines were named All-American Cheerleaders at the camp.
The reward for the All-Americans is a trip to the Capital One Bowl in Orlando, Fla. and a stay at Walt Disney Resort. Drema’s already begun to plan bake sales and fundraisers.
“It’s real exciting to be the mascot for the Bobcats,” she says. “Coach Herring is one of the coolest coaches to have on the track with you. He loves the boys... we’re all like a family. We’re behind the Bobcats all the way.”
Drema and her brother Buster devised a T-shirt launcher for the games last year, and they’re working on another project that promises to thrill the fans. She’s loaded her trash cans with a number of costumes, toys and other surprises for this year’s season — and don’t forget to look for the signs inside the trash-can lids.
