7th, 8th graders win third in 2A District UIL meet

Refugio seventh and eighth graders placed third in the UIL District 30 2A Academic Meet in Skidmore recently.

The results of the eighth grade contests include Cecelia Bauer, 1st, Courtney Breeden, 2nd, Alexis Lynn, 6th in calculator applications; Drema Henning, 5th, Tabetha Garcia, 6th, editorial writing; Glenn Winemann, 5th, impromptu speaking.

Other winners are Cecelia Bauer, 1st, Josh Martinez, 2nd, in mathematics; Alexis Lynn, 1st, Buster Dodge, 3rd, Logan Myers, 6th, number sense; Michael Ramsey, 3rd, Paige Shay, 4th, ready writing; Josh Martinez, 3rd, science II; Josh Martinez, 5th, social studies; Nina Rodriguez, 5th, spelling.

Seventh grade winners include Katie Snyder, 2nd in calculator applications; Morgan Klavemann, 4th, dictionary skills; Dalton Klare, 1st, Morgan Klavemann, 4th, impromptu speaking; Bethani Wade, 4th in listening skills.

Other winners are Dalton Klare, 2nd, Morgan Klavemann, 3rd, Jim LaFond, 6th in maps, charts, graphs; Dalton Klare, 6th in mathematics; Jim LaFond, 4th, number sense; LaTerrian Perkins, 5th, Kenzie Herring, 6th, ready writing; Johnathan Brown, 5th, Kenzie Herring, 6th, social studies; Kenzie Herring, 1st, Pete Arrendondo, 2nd, Anna Castellano, 4th, in spelling.
