Dylan competed with other students from Panhandle Eastern Pipeline Company, Florida Gas Transmission, Trunkline Gas LNG, and Southern Union Gas Company.
Dylan learned of the contest from his father who has been employed for 29 years with Trunkline Gas Company, an affiliate of Panhandle Energy.
“Trunkline Gas Company pipeline starts at Premont Texas and transports natural gas to Illinois which also is transported into Canada,” R. Jaso said. “Florida Gas transports natural gas from Port Lavaca to the state of Florida. Now you have an idea of how many different states were involved in this contest.”
Dylan is currently using his artistic talent by working with the journalism department at Stricklin Primary.
“He loves to work with the other children in the class and has the support of numerous teachers at the school,” his father added.
Dylan’s comic is listed in the 2009 calendar for the month of April. Dylan, 11, is in the fifth grade at Refugio Elementary.
