The seventh grade Lady Eaglets became district champs on Monday following a 26-19 victory over the Yorktown Kitty Kats.

“I was very pleased with the team’s effort to end the season as district champs,” said Coach Rhonda Perez.

The Lady Eaglets district record ended 6-1 and an overall season record of 11-3.

“These girls have been playing together since the fifth grade, they are a very disciplined and self-motivated group and are always ready to play,” said Coach Perez.

Leading scorers for this game were Kasye McCool with 11 points, Jamie Wilson, 10 and Taylor Perez, 5.

“I look forward to watching this group of talented young ladies grow up to be outstanding athletes for Woodsboro High School,” added Coach Perez. “I’d like to thank the parents for their support this year. Your children are a reflection of you and they are truly champions.”
