Organizers at the Refugio County Jamboree have packed an all-star lineup for this month’s show on Thursday, Feb. 26.

Blake Anthony, Ray Crittenden, Bud Whittington, Buddy White, Johnny Marek and Al Nelson, will join the Jamboree Band at 7:30 p.m. for an evening of country music’s favorite tunes.

Anthony has dedicated a great deal of his music energy into supporting a faith-based addiction rehab center, known as The Victory Home.

It has been said “when Blake steps in front of an audience, his genuine and deeply seated desire to bring a smile to every person’s heart is heard louder than the music or the words to his songs,” said Rick Faircloth, show organizer.

Bud Whittington is a former regular of the Jamboree.

“We are glad to have him return for a great appearance,” said Faircloth. “He is a real pro with a pure-country style.”

Al Nelson is a very good drummer and singer who can sing the Ray Price style as well as the Big Band style.

“Not only is he a good singer, he is a good drummer,” Faircloth said.

A talented artist, Marek has been playing in local bands for years.

“He is a great drummer and he has a wonderful voice that will impress the audience,” Faircloth said.

The Jamboree show is held the fourth Thursday of each month at the Refugio Community Center from 7:30 to approximately 10 p.m. Admission remains at $4 per person.
