She was born on Nov. 6, 1912, to Phillip and Emma Heinsohn Buegeler in Karnes County. She married Martin Lieke on Jan. 1, 1934, in Jourdanton. She was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Kenedy and a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, two sisters, Alice Coldeway and Leona Fenner; and three brothers, Reinhold, Elo and Hugo Buegeler.
She is survived by two daughters, Emma Martina (Henry) Walleck of Nell and Irene Lieke of Floresville; two sons, Ronnie D. Lieke of Nell and Elton (Saundra) Lieke of New Braunfels; five grandchildren, Freddie Walleck, Cathy Pawelek, Cymantha Plant, Eric Lieke and Brian Lieke; and eight great-grandsons.
Visitation began at 6 p.m. Thursday at Eckols Funeral Home chapel followed by a prayer service at 7 p.m. Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Friday at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church with Rev. Wally Schievelbein officiating. Interment was held at Kenedy Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Vernon Fenner, R.W. Lieke, Cathy Pawelek, Buster Pawelek, Cymantha Plant, Brian Lieke, Leon Buegeler, David Buegeler, Freddie Walleck and Eric Lieke. Honorary pallbearers will be Garrett W. Pawelek, Latham Walleck, Clayton Walleck, Kyle Plant, Kolby Plant, Kolton Plant, Will Lieke and Gayton Lieke.
Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
Arrangements were entrusted to Eckols Funeral Home in Kenedy.
