She was born Oct. 17, 1920, in Milnesand, N.M. to William Newton and Mary Charlotte Brown Parkinson.
She moved from Woodsboro to Goliad to care for her aging mother, Mary Parkinson, who preceded her in death. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Goliad. An avid quilter, she taught Sunday school to students of all ages. She dedicated her life to caring for others including her ailing husband, mother, sister, brother and son.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Amon Billings; and two sons, Jimmy and Ervin Billings.
Survivors include her brother Dale Parkinson of Victoria, daughter-in-law, Martha Billings of Woodsboro, and dozens of nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends Monday morning from 9-11 a.m. at the First Baptist Church in Goliad. Funeral Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Woodsboro, with Dr. Jimmy Arnold officiating.
Burial will be in LaRosa Cemetery in Woodsboro. Her nephews will serve as pallbearers.
