BCAA to assist with energy bills

The energy assistance funds are designed to help qualifying households pay their energy bill while providing the consumer education needed to reduce their dependence on future government assistance.
The funds were part of $123.9 million awarded to 51 cities, counties and nonprofit organizations through the department.
To apply for help with fuel bills, contact Bee County Action Agency at 361-358-5530. Imelda Rodriguez is the representative for Refugio.

Have had friends in Refugio apply but never received the help, though they qualified and got put on a waiting list each time they applied. :(
