David Noel Leal, 22, was transported by HALO-Flight air ambulance to Christus Spohn Memorial Hospital in Corpus Christi.
David Leal was driving west on FM Road 2441 about one mile west of Woodsboro at a high rate of speed, according to the DPS office in Corpus Christi. The driver was traveling through a slight curve in a 2009 Toyota Camry when he lost control. Leal drove off the roadway on the left side of the highway, according to the DPS report. The vehicle went into the ditch and hit the embankment of a culvert which sent the car airborne, rolling end-over-end approximately two times before coming to rest upright.
Roxanna Leal was ejected and David Leal was pinned in the vehicle. The deceased victim was not wearing a seat belt.
The weather was clear, and the roadway was dry.
DPS Trooper Todd Kocian of Rockport investigated the accident.
