The Woodsboro Junior Varsity Lady Eagles have been idle since Feb. 21 but it certainly did not show this past Monday night as Woodsboro rolled past the Banquete JV Lady Bulldogs 13-4.

Freshman pitcher Malorie Nesloney struck out eight batters in a complete six inning game. The Woodsboro defense also held the Lady Bulldogs to just four hits and turned two double plays during the contest.

Woodsboro scored four runs in the first, fourth, and fifth innings to stay ahead of the Lady Bulldogs throughout the entire contest. The Lady Bulldogs tied the game at 4-4 after their second at bat but could not muster any offense after that.

Kasie Fierova led the offensive attack with three hits and two runs; Melinda Hernandez had two hits, and one run; Nesloney added one hit and two runs.

Kitty Avery, Jimah Riemenschneider, and Sarah Pena each added two runs; Tiffany Friedrichs added one hit and one run; Trista Yanez had one hit and one run; and Jennifer Elizardo added one run.
