TULOSO-MIDWAY — The Moreno Middle School volleyball teams played their last match of the season at Tuloso-Midway last week, and the two A squads were dealt losses by the young Cherokees.

The seventh-grade Lady Trojans lost their best-of-three match in two straight, 25-10 and 25-18.

“I am very proud of the girls. They did a good job this season. The girls made a lot of improvements throughout the season, and I am excited to see them improve more next year,” said coach Nidia Barrera.

“The girls ended the season 3-3. They are all eager to learn and show improvement every practice.”

The eighth-grade team members lost their match to the Cherokees 25-7 and 25-16. The Beeville girls’ record for the year was 2-7 and 2-4 in district.

Alyssa Silva had four points off her serve, while Allison Gonzales and Mari Gonzales each contributed two points. Mich Chavarria and Makayla Martinez got one point each while serving.

“I am very proud of these young ladies. They have worked hard all season and have improved so much,” said coach Holly Vasquez.

“I think they have the basics down, and they will be a great asset to our high school program next year.”
