KINGSVILLE — For the fourth week in a row the Refugio Bobcats allowed no points by their opponents and gave up only 7 points to be scored against them in district play. This past Friday was no different. The Bobcats rolled over the Kingsville Academy Lions to the tune of 70-0.

The Bobcats were purring smoothly in the first quarter looking like a well-oiled machine.

Running back Draigon Silvas garnered the first touchdown of the night with a 14-yard romp into the end zone. Nearly two minutes later quarterback Travis Quintanilla found Chase Whetsel for a 32-yard touchdown pass.

Quintanilla then connected with Marcus Thompson for a 16-yard scoring pass. Just before the end of the first quarter the Bobcat defense put their mark on the scoreboard with Alex Coronado scooping up a Lion fumble and returning it 66 yards for a touchdown to make the score 28-0.

The only score in the second period would again come off the arm of Quintanilla, who threw for 353 yards in the game. His 28-yard touchdown pass to Whetsel would be one of 15 completions out of 18 passes on the night.

In the third quarter the defense would again put their two cents in with JB Brown snagging a Lion pass and returning the interception 28 yards for a touchdown. Whetsel then returned a punt for 44 yards for another score to make it a 49-0 ballgame.

Quintanilla capped off the third period scoring with a 25-yard lob to Thompson.

The Bobcat aerial assault continued in the fourth quarter with Quintanilla throwing two TD passes. The first to Tyler Castellano for 10 yards. The second was a whopper to Thompson for a 99-yard touchdown pass to cement the win 70-0.

The Bobcat defense continued their feeding frenzy on district foes with key plays from Tevin Nash, Devon LaFrance, John Wesley Shipp, and Jim Lafond.

The Bobcats return home for their final game of the regular season hosting the Skidmore-Tynan Bobcats for Parents Night.

Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. at Jack Sportsman Bobcat Stadium.
