Clarence A. “Sonny” Meyer, 83, died Saturday, Nov. 17, 2012.

Mr. Meyer was born in Sample, Oct. 31, 1928, to Albert William and Hilda Schroeder Meyer. He opened Refugio Tire Center, which he ran for 35 years until his retirement.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Gary Pruett; and a sister, Willie Mae Meyer Pebbles.

Survivors include his wife, Helen; two sons, Michael Meyer of Meyersville and Jerry (Kathy) Preuett of Port Arthur; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Visitation was held on Tuesday, Nov. 20, from 6-8 p.m. at Moore Funeral Home Chapel.

The funeral service was conducted on Wednesday, Nov. 21, at 2 p.m. Burial was in Oakwood Cemetery.

Pallbearers were David Riemenschneider, Clement Bauer, T.J. Henning, Tim Pennell, Leander Niemann and Bob Wotipka.

Honorary pallbearers were Allen Riley, Ray Clark, Bobby Hewitt, Jimmy Rouse, Mark Huth, Al Kuehl and Randy Trotter., 83, died Saturday, Nov. 17, 2012.
