Woodsboro tennis team competes well in matches

On Thursday and Friday, March 5 and 6, Woodsboro competed in the Aransas Pass Tournament in the junior varsity and varsity divisions.

On Thursday, J.R. Gonzales won his opening match. Kasie Fierova and Eddie Barnett also competed in singles.

On Friday, Michael Garcia and R.J. Cisneros won their opening match in doubles, as did Montana Williams and Dillan Blaker in mixed doubles and Josh Jones in singles. David Muro also competed in singles.

On Thursday, March 12, the Woodsboro JV competed at the Port Aransas Tournament and the varsity competed on Friday, March, 13.

On Thursday, Kasie Fierova took second in singles. Eddie Barnett also played in singles. On Friday, David Muro played in singles, R.J. Cisneros and Michael Garcia won their first-round doubles match, and Josh Jones and Dillan Blaker took second in doubles.

“The kids are putting in a good effort and we’ll keep working,” said Coach Keith Williams.

Woodsboro will play next at the Refugio Tournament on March 26 and 27.
