I just read a front page article in the San Angelo Standard-Times dated Dec. 1, titled “Mcculloch County: State awards paved road funds to aid sand mining, create jobs”

$300,000 to pave the caliche and gravel on dirt road to Cadre Material Prod. Co. - a sand mining operation because 40 ton 18 wheelers haul the sand out on this road.

Maybe if our county dads and state reps. would take their responsibility more seriously, Karnes county roads would be better served. Oil taxes to state and county should afford paved roads with safe, divided highways. What do you think ?

Note : There are three producing wells along the four mile length of CR 163, and an injection well within 1 mile off CR 165. - Truck traffic is “Main Street” ! - Dust and dirt is “ Cloud 9
