Man dies from injuries suffered in RV explosion near Kenedy

Police confirmed that a man who was inside a RV when it exploded at a location south of Kenedy, died as a result of injuries sustained in the explosion.

Kevin Michael Brown, 55, died at the San Antonio Military Medical Center on Tuesday, Nov. 27, police said.

Local emergency workers responded Sunday evening, Nov. 25, to a report of an RV explosion at a local RV park located on County Road 149 at a location about five miles south of Kenedy.

According to reports on the emergency radio frequency, Brown was reportedly injured in the explosion with burns over 60 percent of his body.

He was airlifted by helicopter from the scene of the accident.

Karnes County EMS workers treated Brown near the scene of the explosion and prepared him for emergency airlift to San Antonio Military Medical Center.

What caused the explosion has not yet been determined, according to information from the Karnes County Sheriff’s Office. The incident remains under investigation.
