HOUSTON — Robert “Bob” Edward Bailey, 88, died Sunday, Dec. 2, 2012. He retired from Continental Emsco.

Bob served in the U.S. Navy and was a founding parishioner of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church and member of the Knights of Columbus, New Generation Seniors of Mt. Carmel and the YMCA XYZ Club.

Bob was a part of the Boy Scouts of American and received numerous awards including the Silver Beaver Award, District Award of Merit and Vigil Honor.

He was born on Nov. 6, 1924, in Refugio to Blanche and Arthur Bailey.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Carroll Newport Bailey, his parents, one sister, Agnes Mae Skrobarcek and two brothers, Jesse James Bailey and Joseph Henry Bailey.

Survivors include three daughters, Helen Kathleen “Kathy” Musselwhite and husband Jeff, Susan “Suzy” Coffman and husband Chris, and Judith Berlinger “Karen” and husband Tim; two sons, John Joseph “Joe” Bailey, and Robert Jesse “Bobby” Bailey; and three grandchildren.

Visitation with the family was from 5 to 6:30 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 9.

A rosary was recited at 6:30 p.m. at Crespo Funeral Home.

Mass was celebrated on Monday, Dec. 10, at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the New Generation Seniors of Mt. Carmel.
