Billy Mata makes his home in San Antonio.
“The Billy Mata Band is renowned in South Texas and travels all over the state as well as outside Texas,” said Jay Monrad, organizer.
Mandy Nixon is a local Woodsboro lady that has performed on the Refugio Opry many times and at other shows in the South Texas area.
“She gets better every time she performs,” Monrad said. “You’ll like her.”
Sterling Griffth of Victoria rounds out the guest list.
“He sings in a Johnny Cash style,” Monrad said.
Sterling produces three Oprys of his own, one in Victoria, one in Rockport and one in Port Lavaca.
As with all the shows, doors open at 5:30 for dinner with show time set for 7 p.m. at the Expo Center at the county fairgrounds.
The food court offers dinner plates for $5, as well as various sandwiches, desserts, snacks, popcorn and drinks.
Tickets to the show are $5 per person.
“Be sure to save your stub as many door prizes are given away each month during intermission,” Monrad said.
All proceeds go toward the county scholarship program.
