Lady Cat senior weight lifters Liz Hernandez and Laura McGuill won second and fifth, respectively, at the state weight lifting competition. Two of their male counterparts will compete at state this weekend.

Dylan Klare took top honors in his weight class and Randy Harvey took second in his. Both will advance to state competition in Abilene on Saturday, March 28.

Taylor Henning tied for second but because his body weight was more than the lifter he tied with, he ended up with third. Henning will go to state as an alternate.

“These young men competed extremely well and improved tremendously throughout the year,” said Coach Brian Ramsey.

Klare lifted a total of 1,470 pounds, with a squat of 580 pounds, a bench press of 385 and a dead lift of 505.

Harvey lifted a total of 1,405 pounds, with a squat of 515 pounds, a bench press of 355 and a dead lift of 535.
