Judith Jeanette Telge McVey, 64, died Tuesday, Feb. 17, 2009.
McVey grew up in Woodsboro. Following graduation from Woodsboro High School, she worked at the First National Bank in Woodsboro, then moved to Houston where she met and married Leon McVey. The couple moved to Tomball, where they raised their two children.
McVey was a civic minded person. She was president of the school board for Magnolia Independent School District and worked with the city council of Tomball. She had her own business, Tomball Business Center for 20 years.
She was born in Kermit, Jan. 9, 1945, to Emil Henry and Vera Lee Telge.
She was preceded in death by her father.
Funeral services were conducted Friday, Feb. 20, in Madisonville, with Lanier Stevens officiating. She was buried in Mt. Tabor Cemetery.
Survivors include her mother; children Mark and Lisa McVey of Murfreesboro, Tenn. and Christie and Garret Noack of Tomball; two sisters, Lillian and husband Johnny Karstedt of Woodsboro and Karen Taylor of George West; four brothers and their wives, Ronald and Joyce Telge of Blessing, Larry and Randell Telge of Woodsboro, Gary and Amanda Telge of Goliad; and five grandchildren.
