Gary Ray Vasquez, 53, died Thursday, March 19, 2009, in Kilgore. He worked as an offshore paramedic for Acadian Ambulance Service at the time of his death.
Vasquez served as a paramedic with Refugio Memorial Hospital District from December 1979 into the 1980’s.
He was born Sept. 18, 1955, to Ricardo and Dorothy Vasquez.
He is preceded in death by his mother, and one brother, Richard Vasquez.
Survivors include his wife of 27 years, Kim Vasquez of Kilgore; three sons, Charlie Vasquez of Newnan, Ga., Craig Vasquez and Mark Vasquez, both of Kilgore; father and step-mother Ricardo and Amy Vasquez of McAllen; and four grandchildren.
Visitation was held Sunday, March 22, from 4-6 p.m. at Radar Funeral Home Chapel.
Funeral services were conducted at The Chapel at Radar Funeral Home on Monday, March 23, at 2 p.m. Deacon Dennis Gilchrist officiated. Burial was in Kilgore Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers were Mike Smith, Eric Nau, Dustin Williams, Curtis Shaw, Bill Lloyd and Carl Holloway.
