Bonnie Joyce (Miller) Makovy, 85, of George West, formerly of Alice, died Sunday, Dec. 23, 2012.

Mrs. Makovy was born Oct. 26, 1927, in San Antonio to Nash and Emma (Gallant) Miller. She graduated high school and was a secretary for Lloyd & Lloyd Attorney. She was a member of First Baptist Church of George West and Immanuel Lutheran Church of Alice and was also a member of First Baptist Church choir, TLC Lunch Club for the Youth and the nursing home ministry.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Nash and Emma Miller; and a brother, Hilton Miller.

Survivors include a daughter, Rebecca Fox; a grandson, William Fox; sisters, Betty Rhodes and Mary Brockman; and a brother, Nash Miller Jr.

A memorial service was held Thursday, Jan. 24, at 10 a.m. at First Baptist Church in George West with Rev. Bruce Irving officiating.
