The Texas Department of Transportation’s construction at the intersection of U.S. Highway 59 and State Highway 183 will continue until July, according to TxDOT spokesperson Rickey Dailey.
The $2.56 million project began Jan. 21 to improve safety for vehicles making right-hand turns, Dailey said Monday from his Corpus Christi office.
“That was a pretty sharp turn there, especially for large vehicles turning right.”
Dickey also said sidewalks will be constructed at the intersection.
“We’re putting in sidewalks so we can keep the pedestrians separated,” Dickey said. “The impetus for this project was safety improvements.”
